XAGU STUDIOS, S.L.
Epoc Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 October 2026
- Epoc is for ages 13 and up. Play fair: no cheats, no programs that play for you, no extra accounts to boost points.
- Everyone can see your nickname: it must not offend, impersonate anyone or contain personal data.
- Epoc Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play or the App Store; refunds follow their rules. It gives no leaderboard advantage.
- The cards, texts and illustrations are ours or used under licence. Brands and works mentioned on the cards belong to their owners.
- Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Who we are and acceptance
Epoc is a game by XAGU STUDIOS, S.L. («Xagu», «we»), Tax ID B75134445, registered office at Parque Empresarial Zuatzu – Zubiberri 29, 1-3 (Edificio Ondarreta), 20018 Donostia-San Sebastián (Gipuzkoa), Spain; phone +34 943 215 270; email info@xagustudios.net.
These terms govern the use of Epoc in all its versions (Android, iOS, Windows and web) and its online services. By installing or using the game you accept them. How we process your data is explained in the privacy policy. The Spanish version is the original; if the two differ, the Spanish one prevails, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have in your country.
Epoc is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are a minor, you need permission from your parent or guardian to make purchases and, where the law in your country requires it, to create an account.
2. The game and its versions
- Android and iOS: free, with ads, and with the optional Epoc Pro purchase.
- Windows (Steam and Microsoft Store): a one-time purchase, with no ads and no in-game purchases.
- Web: free, with ads, no purchases.
You can play against the computer without an account and offline. Playing online, having friends and appearing on the leaderboards require an account and an internet connection.
We will keep improving the game: we may change decks, cards, rules, modes, scoring or leaderboards, and fix errors. We aim to keep the online service always available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, failures or reasons beyond our control. If we ever decide to close the online service, we will announce it in the game at least 30 days in advance; offline play against the computer will keep working in the version you have installed.
3. Your account
- Accounts are created by signing in with Google or Apple. Your account is personal: do not share, sell or transfer it, and do not use someone else's.
- One person, one competitive account. Do not create extra accounts to play against yourself, boost points or get around a suspension.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone is using it, sign out on all your devices and write to us.
- You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account, or at /delete-account). Deleting it erases your points, history and friends, and they cannot be recovered.
4. Nickname and location
Your nickname, country, region and city are shown on the leaderboards and on your profile. Nicknames must be 3 to 16 characters long and must not:
- contain insults, hate speech or discrimination, sexual or violent content, or content that glorifies crime or terrorism;
- impersonate another person, a brand, Xagu or its staff (for example, «Admin» or «Support»);
- include your or anyone else's personal data (full name, phone number, address, social media handles), links or advertising.
An automatic filter rejects nicknames with banned words. We may also change or reset a nickname that breaks these rules and hide the account from the leaderboards until it is fixed. Your place is chosen from a list: choose it in good faith (where you live or a place you have a connection with); we may correct abusive uses.
5. Conduct and fair play
Leaderboards only make sense if everyone plays on equal terms. Points are calculated by our server, and you must not:
- use cheats, programs that play for you, bots, macros, modified clients or any tool that gives you an advantage;
- exploit bugs to gain points (if you find one, please tell us);
- collude with other players, or use several accounts, to give away or inflate points or ELO;
- access the API or servers outside the game, scrape the cards, images or leaderboards, or try to overload, attack or breach the security of the service;
- harass other players, for example with repeated unwanted friend requests or invitations;
- decompile or modify the game, except as expressly permitted by law.
If you break these rules we may, depending on how serious it is: cancel games and points, correct your statistics, hide your account from the leaderboards, suspend it temporarily or delete it. If you disagree with a measure, write to us and a person will review it.
6. Card content
Each card describes a real event and its year. We take great care to get the dates right, but some are disputed or approximate, and there may be mistakes. If you find one, write to us: we will review it and, where appropriate, fix the card. Corrections do not necessarily change games already played.
Cards mention people, works, events, companies and brands for informational and general-knowledge purposes. Those brands and works belong to their owners, and mentioning them does not mean they are connected with, sponsor or endorse Epoc. Some cards deal with hard historical facts (wars, attacks, dictatorships) from an informational point of view, without glorifying them.
7. Purchases and refunds
Epoc Pro (Android and iOS). A one-time, non-consumable purchase that removes the full-screen ads between games and gives you the «second chance» without watching a video. It gives no advantage on the leaderboards.
- The purchase is handled by Google Play or the App Store, at the price and with the taxes the store shows you before you pay. It is tied to your store account (not your Epoc account), so you can get it back on another device with the same store account: on Android it is restored automatically; on iOS, with «Restore purchases» in Settings.
- Epoc Pro is digital content delivered immediately. By buying it you request immediate delivery and acknowledge that, once delivered, you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal, as permitted by law (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). This does not affect your right for it to work as described.
- Refunds are handled by each store under its own rules. On Google Play, from your order history or via Google Play Help. On the App Store, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded or voided, Pro is removed.
- If Pro does not work for you, write to info@xagustudios.net and we will sort it out.
PC version (Steam and Microsoft Store). The game is bought from the store, which handles payment and refunds under its own rules: on Steam, the Steam refund policy; on the Microsoft Store, Microsoft's refund help.
Leaderboards, points and ELO have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or exchanged, and are not your property.
8. Ads
The free versions show Google ads, never during a game. Rewarded videos are always optional. We are not responsible for the content of ads or the sites they lead to; if you see an inappropriate ad, let us know. How your data is processed for advertising is explained in the privacy policy.
9. Intellectual property
Epoc, its software, design, texts, the selection and wording of the cards, their translations, illustrations, sounds, name and logo belong to Xagu or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence (free of charge, apart from the store price) to use the game for leisure and non-commercial purposes under these terms.
You may not copy, extract, publish or distribute the decks, cards or illustrations, or use them to create another game or product. You may take screenshots, make videos and stream your games, including monetised ones, as long as you do not present the game as yours and do not publish entire decks.
If you believe something in the game infringes your rights, write to info@xagustudios.net explaining what it is and we will review it promptly.
10. Additional App Store terms
If you downloaded Epoc from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies, and you acknowledge that: these terms are between you and Xagu, not Apple; Xagu, not Apple, is solely responsible for the game, its maintenance and support, and for handling any claims about it (including product liability, regulatory compliance and third-party intellectual property claims); if the game fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price, if any, and Apple will have no other warranty obligation; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
11. Warranties and liability
We provide Epoc with professional care and with the guarantees the law gives consumers. Beyond those statutory guarantees, the game is provided as is, and we do not guarantee that the online service will be free of interruptions or errors, or that your points or ranks will be kept if errors or cheating have to be corrected.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage or for losses caused by third-party services (stores, Google, Apple, your carrier or your device). Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor your rights as a consumer.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Epoc and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or delete an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, explaining the reason unless the law or security prevents it. If we delete your account, your Pro purchase remains yours at the store.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the game or the law. We will post the new version on this page with its date and, if the change is significant, tell you in the game in advance. If you do not agree, you can stop using Epoc and delete your account.
14. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer living in another country of the European Union, the mandatory rules of your country also protect you. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of your place of residence, if you are a consumer; otherwise, by those of Donostia-San Sebastián.
Before making a claim, write to info@xagustudios.net: we will try to resolve it. If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force.
